Now, I am fully aware of the importance of preserving nature and wildlife areas.
I have now begun to change my galleries so purchases of my photos will allow me to donate towards the preservation of Orange County wildlife. I see it disappearing every day.

I wish I had more time to sit here, but my neck won't let me. The eyes after ten years on the net are also saying no. ;~)
This month I managed to get another, longer lens and am having a blast. It's very heavy though. Talk about a neck wrecker! ;~)Here's some more fun I've had!

Well, its been months since I got to my blog. I've had such a fun summer.
I've shot Bobcats, chased Bald Eagles and seen alot of wildlife, even locally.
My albums are filling...I'll share a few with you, maybe some I won't get a chance at again...
pretty special to me, to capture a moment in time with nature. I'm probably going to spend more time promoting the importance of wildlife especially in my neighborhood.
A wild bobcat cub, just couldn't sit still long, the mom finally giving up and finally sauntering off with them to the creek...
the baby wanted to stay and play...
but finally followed his bro and mom off to the creek.
I finally got to shoot some bald eagles up north. My sister
called and said there were eagles near where she camped
So I hopped a plane and drove the rest of the way...a friend
gave us a boat ride to look for them, we found two. They mate for life...
it was rainy, I was lucky to get these...
beautiful raptor...so glad they are doing well...
some rare reddish egrets...

My bad, I have not managed to get in here to my blog! A very busy summer and alot of fun shooting. My friend and I found owls and hung out at the Osprey and Kite nests. It's so enjoyable watching and capturing nature...dinner anyone?

The new year 08 has started out stellar. I have been to the ocean, beautiful days. I've been tracking this bobcat for months, and finally, FINALLY he came out of hiding and today he walked right up to me. Awesome fun!

The last of '07! Except for my parents poor health it's been a good year.
Taken on New Years eve day, a nice way to end the year. A pair of Harriers.
The gray one is the male, called the Gray Ghost, a hard shot to capture, as they are shy
animals. The females are brown and we see them often on the back bay. And a few red tails.

Perfect month to visit some real ghost towns. Our OC group and I went to Yosemite, Bodie and Cerra Gorde. Great trip! Exausting sun up 'til after sundown shooting. All in 3 days! Night panoramas, landscapes, portraits and infrareds all in one trip. Couldn't ask for anything better than that! Here's some of my favorites...

Well I havn't been here in two months! Been a busy summer and I have enjoyed so many "first times" with photography around here. Mainly I am learning the species of nature in this area and have met alot of really great people who love photography and observing the wonders around us that everyday life contaminates us from.
I'm adjusting a new LCD screen and hate the colors but getting there. Only a nature photographer would understand the importance of subtle colors and all 256 of them, as the LCD screen have difficulty doing. [unless you want the whole world to look like the Caribean, lol. ]

Busy week! Where else on earth can you find wild baby Bald Eagles, wild turkeys, buffalo, and huge waves at the beach all in 2 days! I'm lucky to live here. No more complaints! ;~)

I managed to drive an hour and 40 minutes to the eagle nest. Borrowing a friends longer lens, was hoping to capture some closer shots this time. Actually, my canon 300f4+1.4x focused better and quicker than the 500! All pictures but one ended up with my lens, although they are too far away and hard to get detail. Amazing to watch the father of the fledgling keep him in the nest. The baby will fledge soon. So cool to capture this, even if the pics aren't that good.

Today is Easter. I hope everyone had a good day, a chance to appreciate all that they have, and the wonderful nature around them. It's very simple to appreciate life on earth.
I've had my lens in the shop, I fell on it and took it in for calibration. It took three tries but I've got it back now. During the 'no long lens' week, I dabbled with some macros...fun!

Been awhile. I've been busy and had a chance to drive down to shoot some bald eagles, unusual for California. It was so fun! We found them, but unfortunately they were too far away. I will go back with a 500mm!
Today I went back to the park to check on my little hummer family. The mother watched me closely and then fed them for me and my camera. I was so stoked! Very strong species that female is! Hope the hawks don't get them...

Had a nice time in Palm Springs yesterday, in Tahquitz Canyon, and did some infrared work. It was 75* and pretty hot for my type of hiking! [which is very little, lol] But I hiked about 4 miles with gear. I am thrilled with that.
and a favorite Red Shouldered Hawk a few days ago near home...
been a fun week, except for the sore wrist and body! lol

I just had to go back down to the bay, and look for the Harrier. It was superbowl sunday so I knew it would be quiet there. It was so enjoyable, and sure enough he scoped me.

I drug myself outside again today. We have some really nice open
space trails around here. This time of year, lots of hawks, falcons
and unusual birds. The weather is warming. I shot this week some
Red Shouldered Hawks, White tailed/grey Kestrels, American Kestrels,
Red Tailed Hawks and a Harrier. It's addicting. I just wish I could carry
bigger equipment. I'm becoming a recluse.
